Questions about the hardware
Is the reader mine or am I renting it?
Yours. You buy it once. If you cancel the account the reader is still your property — we do not ask for it back.
What if it breaks?
Hardware carries the manufacturer warranty. Get in touch through the help centre and we will arrange the replacement.
Can I use a reader I already own?
If it is Stripe Terminal hardware registered to your account, usually yes. Send us the model through the help centre and we will confirm.
How many readers can one account run?
As many as you like. The £5 is per account, not per device, and the app installs on every phone, tablet or terminal you own.
When does shipping cost nothing?
When you buy a reader together with the plan, on the shop kit, and on multi-site orders over £1,000 of terminals.
Start with the seventy-nine pound one.
You can add a countertop terminal later without changing accounts, catalogues or fees.
