Food and drink
Bars, food trucks and kiosks sell forty things, fast, to a queue that can see you. What matters is how few taps a round takes and whether the card machine argues. Table maps and course timing are not what we do — the till is.

What the job actually asks of a till, before anyone talks about features.
A grid of your actual menu, one tap per item, tap to pay. No searching, no scrolling through categories you do not use.
Open a tab, add to it, close it on card or cash. Split the bill across two cards when the table asks.
Oat milk, extra shot, no ice — priced or free, attached to the line rather than shouted down the counter.
One shift report: cards, cash, tips and voids, against the drawer, before you lock the shutter.
One screen on the counter, one handheld for the terrace or the queue outside.
Free shipping when you buy hardware with the plan. Compare all three readers.
What it costs
Hospitality POS is usually sold per terminal, per month, with a hardware lease on top. A truck with two points of sale should not be paying twice for the same software.
Account
£5 / month
Covers the counter screen, the handheld and the owner’s phone. Per business, not per till.
Per payment
0.4% + 1p
On top of Stripe’s rate. Small tickets are where the flat cent matters — it is one penny, not fifteen.
Tips
Kept in full
Prompted on screen and paid out with the rest of your takings. We take nothing extra from a tip.
Stripe rates vary by country, card type and payment method. The 0.4% + 1p does not change, and neither does the £5.
Trucks and kiosks tend to want the location tools before anything else.

Receipt-based contact capture, then a message when you are back on that pitch.
See what each upgrade costs. None of them are needed to take a payment.
Open tabs and splitting, yes. Table maps, course timing and kitchen display screens, no. If you need those, a hospitality-specific POS will serve you better and we would rather say so.
Yes, prompted on the reader before payment, and paid out with your takings. We do not take a cut of them.
Four taps and a tap to pay, on a menu grid you lay out yourself.
The counter printer plugs into the S700. A second one can be added through the order wizard.
On mobile data, yes. Sales queue through dropouts and sync when the signal returns.
A WisePOS E works on its own. Add the counter terminal when the pitch becomes permanent.
